Cape Hatteras

North Carolina

WBS Home Coast

Sticking far out into the Atlantic, the Outer Banks around Cape Hatteras pick up more swell than almost anywhere on the East Coast. The sandbars can make fast, hollow waves, especially on hurricane swells. Because the coastline bends, there is often a beach with good wind. It can be powerful, so beginners should pick small days.
